Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invites application from eligible candidates for the post of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam 2019 for the recruitment of Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant.   • Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): 1269 Posts
  • Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant: 3598 Posts
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO): 26 Posts

Age Limit 01.01.2020: Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years. Relaxation in age is given to candidates as per rules.

Educational Qualification:Candidates should be 12th Class/ equivalent exam from a recognized Board/ University.

Application Fee: 

  • For General & OBC: 100-
  • For SC/ST/Female/Ex-Servicemen No Fee
  • Candidates Pay The Exam Fee Through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or E-Challan.

Selection Process: Selection process will be based on Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) and Paper-II.

Staff Selection Commission was established in the year 1975 and its Headquarters of the Staff Selection Commission is at New Delhi.

The office of the Staff Selection Commission is attached to the office of the Department of Personnel and Training. The Staff Selection Commission has got seven Regional Offices each at Allahabad, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, and two Sub-Regional Offices at Raipur and Chandigarh.

Several examinations are conducted by SSC throughout the year which includes Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam, Engineering Assistant, Common Graduate Level (CGL) Exam, Junior Engineer, Multitasking staff exam along with other specialized exams as needed by various government organizations and agencies. The Group B & Group C positions in various Departments of Government of India as well as Subordinate Offices has been taken care by Staff Selection Commission and are getting really good response from candidates across the country who wish to join in various government jobs.

Eligibility criteria for various posts under the Staff Selection Commission is mentioned below-

  1. Nationality/Citizenship: –

A candidate applying for the post under Staff Selection Commission must be either:

(a) A citizen of India, or

(b) A subject of Nepal, or

(c) A subject of Bhutan, or

(d) With the intention of permanently settling in India, A Tibetan refugee who came to India before the 1-01-1962 can apply.

(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Vietnam, Kenya, Uganda, Zaire, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Ethiopi, Zambia and  with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The selection of above said D and C categories are depending upon their capability to submit a certificate from Government of India stating the eligibility.

  1. Age Criteria: –
  • Data Entry Operator, Lower Division Clerk, Stenographer, SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam: Between 18-27 years
  • Junior Engineer – Between 18-27 years for (Civil & Electrical) in Central Public Works Department, Not exceeding 30 years JE (Civil) /(Electrical & Mechanical) in MES, Up to 32 years for JE (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage, 18-27 Years for JE (Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES, and Not exceeding 30 years for JE (Civil) / (Electrical &Mechanical) in Border Roads Organization.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) – Between 18-25 years
  • Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, CAPFs and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF – Between 20-25 years
  • Junior Hindi Translator – Not More than 30 years.
  • Assistant Grade III Posts in General, Depot, Technical and Account Cadres: Not more than 27 years.

3-Educational Qualification:-

For each posts, educational qualification are varied that is given below-

  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) – Candidates should have Matriculation Examination or equivalent qualification approved by Government of India.
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO) – Passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a state board or equivalent institution approved by Government of India.
  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC) – Passed 12th Standard or equivalent qualification.
  • Stenographer – Passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a state board or equivalent institution approved by Government of India.
  • Junior Engineer – Candidates have Degree/ Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university approved by UGC or made under an act of Parliament or AICTE.
  • Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, CAPFs and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF – Candidates have Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university approved by UGC or made under an act of Parliament or AICTE and valid Driving License for Light Motor Vehicle.
  • Junior Hindi Translator – Candidates have Master’s Degree in English/ Hindi with Hindi/ English as a compulsory or elective subject or a Bachelor’s Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects from a recognized University or equivalent institution approved by the Government of India.
  • Assistant Grade III Posts in General, Depot, Technical and Account Cadres – Graduate Degree / B.Sc. in Agriculture / Zoology / Botany /Bio-Technology / Microbiology / Bio-Chemistry / Food Science / Bachelor of Commerce with proficiency in use of computers from a recognized University or equivalent institution approved by the Government of India.
  • SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam – Candidates have Graduation degree from a recognized university approved by UGC or made under an act of Parliament or AICTE.

Civilian Employees (General/Unreserved) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on crucial date can apply up to 40 years of age.
