Emoluments: Rs. 25000 pm + HRA (as per DST rules if applicable)

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is the 8 new IIT started by Minister of Human Resource development, Govt. of India. It is situated at Rupnagar which is officially known as Ropar, Punjab. It is an Engineering and Technology higher education institute.
In the year 2008, the new institute was started by Minister of Human Resource Development. In the year 2008-2009, classes for the first academic session were held at IIT Delhi. The institute started functioning from its temporary campus in Rupnagar in the year 2009. The permanent campus of IIT Ropar is located at Birla Seed Farms, Rupnagar.
The institute is providing technical education in various fields and additionally for simplifying program of knowledge in keeping latest developments. Presently the institutes has Bachelor of Technology program in the following stream: Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The campus admits 40 students in each branch. Students are cheered to go beyond the classroom to carryout self-governing work by means of research project, guided reading and engage them in the research program undertaken by the faculty member.
In the year 2008-2009, the 3 UG’s programs have started. Admission to this program is done through Indian Institute of technology Joint Entrance Exam. This exam is written once completing 10+2 high level schooling. The admission to PG program is done through GATE. The Master degree provides in this institute are M.tech in Mechanical Engineering, M.S in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Linguistic. The Ph.D courses are also offered in this University. The placements are also provided in this campus.`
