The Heavy Vehicle Factory (HVF) is one among the forty Ordnance factory and is located at Avadi in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and manufactures heavy battlefield equipment, including Vijayantas and T-72 tanks and serves various defence and civilian organizations. The Heavy Vehicle Factory (HVF) is directly operating under Ordnance Factories Board, Kolkata and is under the control of Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Being one of the mail Ordnance factories in southern part of the country it operates as a state of art facility manufacturing heavy vehicles for the defence requirements.

The Heavy Vehicle Factory (HVF) has plans to fill these openings with recruitment programs planned in the coming months.
The minimum qualification a candidate should possess to apply for the said positions is a pass in 10th class / matriculation and for candidates who wish to put up application for technical cadres may require additional technical qualification and expertise in the field applying for. There are managerial and supervisory roles also coming up and a pass in graduation would the minimum qualification required to apply for higher cadres I the factory. The graduation needs to be from a recognized University or a similar kind of government institution.
The minimum age required for a candidate to apply for the post of Semi-Skilled labour, Telephone Operators, Tradesman, LDC, Cook, Laboratory Assistant, Fitters, Store Keeper, Fireman, Durwan etc. is 18 years and maximum is 32 years for which age relaxation would be allotted category wise. The categories such as SC/ST, OBC, Ex Service Men, Government servants etc. would get a leverage from 3 years to 8 years depending on the government rules prevailing at the time of application.

The candidates need to apply online in the prescribed format given and once done needs to send the hardcopy along with supporting documents to the address given in the recruitment notification. There would be fee structure decided for candidates wishing to apply for and the fees needs to be paid in the form of Demand Draft (DD) in most cases.
